British photographer Larry Hallegua is currently based in Thailand, where he has been shooting candid street scenes since 2011. During a year of teaching English in Sichuan province’s capital in 2014-2015, Hallegua shot the series Made in Chengdu, a frank observation of a city on the brink of economic rise. The fleeting scenes divulge an impending transformation: the emerging middle-class society, the shifting social dynamic, and the search for balance between tradition and modernity.
