From June 8 to July 16 will be held in Houlgate, Lower Normandy, the first edition of the festival “Les femmes s’exposent (Women Exposed)”. An event dedicated exclusively to professional women photographers at a time when they lack of visibility. This festival hopes to deconstruct clichés, like the one that photography is a hobby for women and not a real job. The event has been organised in collaboration with Françoise Huguier, a famous and well established reporter and fashion photographer, following the idea of Béatrice Tupin, former photography director at the Nouvel Observateur French magazine.
