At the heart of the project Traces by Weronika Gesicka, there are precisely traces, marks, engrams from a passed existence of people and situations. The vintage photographs were purchased from an image bank. Family scenes, vacation souvenirs and everyday life moments, suspended between truth and fiction. Who are they ? Actors or real people ? We know nothing of the eventual ties between them. The artist distorted the pictures to create surreal and almost uncomfortable collages. « Our recollections of these people and situations are transformed and gradually blur into a new reality ».
