The most crowded places sometimes convey a strange feeling of loneliness. The Japanese photographer Hiroharu Matsumoto explored the streets of Tokyo, looking for particular atmospheres and scenes. The visual result of this initiative is fascinating: pictures shot in back and white, soothed by soft lights, where the protagonists seem to have a moment of respite far from the tumult and the permanent humming of the city.
