It was during trips to Japan, in 2019 and then in 2020, that French photographer and artistic director Aishy captured metropolises like Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka by night. Inspired by cyberpunk and futuristic universes of movies like “Matrix” and “Blade Runner”, the artist unveils a series of photos, Japan Cinematic Frames, in which he highlights dark and mysterious streets, characterised by a surreal atmosphere. “I like going out in the evening between midnight and 5 am, after the subway shutdown, to appreciate the calm of the empty streets, which are never completely empty, and then finish my exploration at sunrise” tells the photographer, who enjoys to play with nocturnal atmospheres to make the spectator travel in a parallel universe.
