Joel Sternfeld influenced many generations of photographers with his road trips cliches. Sternfeld is the ordinary American life storyteller. Thanks to his work, he drawn a portrait of American identity by travelling through the country looking for true stories to tell. His works are available in American Prospects, a fundamental book to understand USA photography. Sternfeld opens a window on small towns life, far from big cities, between boredom and freedom.
