Finnish photographer, Mikko Lagerstedt, has published a recent series entitled ‘t r e e s’ documenting his native country which focuses on the diverse range of species of trees in his homeland.
With the open skies and untouched, fresh snow as a background serenity, Lagerstedt travels across the land finding the most stunning images which speak volumes on the landscape.With soft light and often dull colors, the photographer is able to hone into the nature itself with all its aspects highlighted in complete calmness.
“My goal is to convey the feeling I had when I was photographing the subjects…to appreciate the never-ending beauty of trees,” Lagerstedt said. “In our lives, we rarely recognize them, yet trees surround us with their beauty. They tell us many stories about life and the struggle to survive in harsh conditions.”
