It is called Vinicunca, Montaña de siete colores or Rainbow Mountain. In Peru, visitors, lucky to evolve in this breathtaking landscape, then have the opportunity to go through the Red Valley on their way back. It’s this mountainous mass with ruddle shades that the Italian Paolo Pettigiani immortalized. Passionate about colors, shapes and contrasts, this natural setting was ideal for his photographer’s eye. “The reason why of these colors is because till 10 year ago, they were totally covered by snow and ice. With the global warming the glacier started to melt, the water mixed with minerals in the ground, turning the earth into many colors”, explains the artist.
