It is during his graphic design studies that Yuri Andries developed an interest in photography. He sees, in it, a tensed relation to reality, a function as a documentary and a way to stimulate people’s imagination. In his series « India », he shares the vision of what country he was searching for, before his departure: « I wanted to look for stillness in the constant movement in the midst of all these sharp colors », says he. For him, that series mainly formed by observations, impressions, and attractions he had to certain colors, details or persons. « I am an unconditional of colors and graphic elements, probably inherited from his graphic design background ». An invitation to discover that country, where Yuri « experienced the kindness of the people, whose spirituality is deeply rooted in a culture of reincarnation ».
