After the Second World War, the San Francisco California School of Fine Arts (SCFA) hired renowned photographer Ansel Adams to establish one of the first art photography departments in the United States. Three former Adams students, later known as the “Three Musketeers”, William Heick, Ira H. Latour and C. Cameron Macauley began planning a photo book for the years 1945-1955. The book is called The Golden Age, published by Steidl.
