The main playground of Charles Lopez, a self-taught French photographer, is the large spaces where reliefs, coasts, shadows and lights offer striking landscapes: Canada, Lapland, Iceland or even the Swiss Alps. He explains that it was, in fact, the trip that led him to the practice of photography at first, a work he shares today under the name of Vagabond Diary.

«When I go on an expedition I never know what will be the program of the day, I often let my instinct guides myself», says the artist in a perpetual quest for exploration. His photos immerse us in nature’s immensity and give rise to feelings of sweet solitude – but also freedom – in front of these wild landscapes he managed to capture with subtlety.
