Inspired by Wilfred Thesiger’s book Arabian Sands, photographer Jim Mangan launched “Bedu”, a new series illustrating the harmony between man and nature in deserts’ inhospitable environment. A form of dynamism emerges from these images showing sands’ eruptions, which contrasts with the typical tranquillity and peacefulness of deserts. The series “Bedu”, meaning “Bedouin” or “desert dweller” invites the viewer to liberate himself from material possessions and militates for a return to the essential.
