eff Rothstein, a Brooklyn native, spent 40 years photographing the streets of New York with his 35mm camera and black & white film. In his book, Today’s Special: New York City Images 1969-2006, Rothstein compiles most of his work in a stunning way.
The shots, taken between 1969 and 2006 cover a very large part of NYC modern history, and are a testimony of the changes the city has encountered.
