Have you ever had the curious impression of being on the other side of the world while in your own geographical backyard? To have discovered a remote territory that had eluded you until now?
Photography is an amazing tool that allows you to look at reality differently. This is what happens in the series Bout du Monde by the French photographer Nicolas Blandin, in which he explores the mountains near his home in Annecy.

Bout du Monde examines the ever-shrinking border between the familiar and the exotic, the near and the far, reality and fiction, exploring the distant territories next door.

Nicolas Blandin (born 1982) is a self-taught photographer based in Annecy, France. His practice explores our relationship with landscape and examines the narrative power, emotional charge and ambiguity of photography.
