Surfers know it : you have to plan your trip to Hawaii in winter if you want to find the most beautiful tubes. It is at this time of year that the waves are the biggest – they can reach 9 meters high – making the archipelago an amazing surf spot. In her series “Winter Surf”, photographer Marina Weishaupt, based in southern Germany, captured the prized coasts of the island of Maui. Through her lens, she immortalized the tubes, the foam, the surfers and the winter sun rays.
