« The idea was to show crowded places and squares abandoned and empty, to give a surreal impression of the city », explains Franz Sussbauer. With this series called « Munich Squares », the German photographer wanted to use long exposure, to give another look on his hometown, « that has normaly very busy squares ». A singular and marvelous work that offers distortion-free, deserted and mostly clear cloudless sky pictures. « These components multiply the feeling of abandonment of these streets. Details are very clearly photographed and the camera position highlights the building skins and structures. Here, architecture and space merge to a unique and surreal composition ».
