Atmospheric and mysterious, the series Mystical by photographer Neil Burnell explores a location that writers call “the most haunted place on Dartmoor”: a patch of stunted woodland dominated by dwarf oak trees, whose fearful reputation was built through legends and tales passed on from generation to generation. The images captured by Burnell show the forest bathed in soft light, exposing the quiet beauty of its moss-covered rocks and twisted tree roots.
