Montreal-based photographer Melika Dez recently released a new series. Entitled «PLI.É», this multidisciplinary project actually combines dance photography and paper for an elegant and impressive result.

Indeed, the dancers have all been dressed or accessorized by the artist Miss Cloudy, co-director of this large-scale project that has already taken over some of the most beautiful cities in the world: Montreal, Rome, Paris, New York. The beauty of the body movements yet also the paper’s textures seem to unfold with infinite poetry. «We chose the name “PLI.É” because in a single word [in French] we bring together paper and dance. [Because] Origami is the art of folded paper and folded is also a movement corresponding to the repertoire of ballet.»

An unexpected marriage of artistic disciplines which manages to immortalize both origami creations and the models’ talent.
