The CAUE VAR in collaboration with La Rue des arts, the Department Council of the French region of Var and the city of Toulon, present “ARCHILUMEN, a touching dialogue between architecture and light”. This exhibition takes place in a historical street of the city, the rue Pierre Semard. This event is a part of a wide project led by the town hall and the architect Jacques Mikaélien in order to restructure the old Toulon’s port quartier. The idea was to rebirth these typical streets, representative of a Mediterranean way of living. By bringing art outside, on the walls of public characteristic building, they succeeded in creating a new attitude of sharing and living in a community.

This year, the CAUE VAR was in charge of the curation of “La Rue des arts” and chosen the local photographer internationally known
Michel Eisenlohr to immortalize the most beautiful buildings of the region to study relationships between light and architecture in an exceptional locality, the South of France, where colors and shades are rare and incredibly manifold. Until December 28th.
