Mikaël Theimer is a French photographer who lives in Montreal, where he met his friend Marion Munoz more than 6 years ago. The very first time which he asks her to poses for his objective, she takes place instinctively face to the wall, and back to the camera. Mikaël found the idea interesting, and decided to make a complete serie of pictures. He explains : “This may be an interesting–yet sad–result of being constantly bombarded with images of ‘perfect women’. I think maybe deep down she fears a picture of her will look ridiculous compared to all the pictures of models and celebrity that we constantly see in the media.” Cliches which reflect the influence of the media on our self-esteem, but which are also straightforward, and beautiful by its spontaneity.
