With an anti-tourist, photographer Oliver Curtis wanted to show the other side of monuments through the world. His series Volte-face shows his approach well since he visited the Taj Mahal, the Statue of Liberty, The Great Wall of China, Christ the Redeemer and Greek ruins by pointing his camera at the opposite side of each monument. The other side is sometimes as beautiful but often, it’s less poetical to contemplate.
