Gideon Mendel is a South African photographer who manages, with each of its series, to place social issues at the center of our attention. With a series begun in 2007 and called “Drowning World”, Gideon Mendel gives us portraits of families affected by floods across the globe, more or less submerged, offering powerful images that recall and the importance of such natural disaster in the lives of millions of people.
