From Iraq to Afghanistan, by way of Kazakhstan, Ukraine or even the undergound tunnels of Paris, Louis Le Kim is permanently looking for places that would look like familiar landscapes in several centuries. The young French artist imagines those landscapes and assume that they are in ruin. The desert, a place which hasn’t changed much and will not in the near future, is one of his main sources of inspiration. He associates it with the industrial wilderness that exalt him so much. These structures, colossal yet abandonned, by men as well as nature (which takes back its rightful place) are the proof that we are just passing through this world and that our activity is only ephemeral.
His next expedition is bound for Mossul after an exhibition in Paris in late June. These expeditions are usually illegal.
