At Enter Projects Asia rattan is a true passion. After completing the decoration of a yoga temple, the studio’s designers are back with a large scale installation that crosses a Bangkok restaurant overlooking the Chao Priya River. Occupying the lounge of the Spice & Barley, two 30 meter pillars rise from the ground and blossom into a mass of black and gold stripes.

Patrick Keane, the director of the Thai firm, “used 3D special effects software -Maya and Rhino- to simulate bubbles, foam and liquids” which refer to the range of Belgian beers that the restaurant serves. Concealing pipes and ventilation equipment, the spiral shapes also reflect the surrounding architecture, while the painted bands evoke the country’s golden temples.
