Looks can be deceiving: a mantra that rings true in the series Parallel Realities by Danish photographer Peter M. Madsen. At first glance, nothing seems out of the ordinary in his photographs, but a closer look reveals a glitch in each of them. Swatches of windows, trees and facades are pixelized, subtle enough to not be noticed immediately, but perceptible enough to feel as if something is off. In this day and age where information can be faked, manipulated and tweaked, it’s a clever reminder to always look beyond the surface of things.
