Based in Missoula, Montana, Sarah Bethea captured the unique beauty and the magic of Iceland’s caves. It is 3 years ago, while she was modeling, that she decided to go behind the camera. « I finally got one for myself, and immediately fell in love with it. I’ve always been passionate about the outdoors, and so I turned my focus to nature and adventure lifestyle ». To find the incredible caves she photographed, Sarah chose to hire a guide to help, but also to make sure to not do anything that would be damaging to the environment. The incredible result and the light, she had was found in December, when the sun does not rise far above the horizon. « When it happens, you have a beautiful golden light throughout the short daylight hours. For 5 or 10 minutes, the sun lined up just right to enter the cave and light up that section of ice », she explains.
