The Underwater Photographer of the Year is a competition based in the United Kingdom, that celebrates and highlights underwater photography. 2019 Winners offer us the chance to see wonders in different categories (12 main plus two additional: Marine Conservation Photographer of the Year and Underwater Photography Book of the Year), such as wide angle, macro, wrecks, behavior, portrait, black and white… The jury was composed by internationally renowned judges. This year, Dr. Alex Mustard, Peter Rowlands, and Martin Edge. This year saw Richard Barnden from the UK named Underwater Photographer of the Year 2019 as well as British Underwater Photographer of the Year 2019 with his captivating image titled ‘The Gauntlet’. The Korean Taeyup Kim, Spanish Eduardo Acevedo, English Malcolm Nimmo, and German Tobias Friedrich are also award winners of the year.
