Danila Tkachenko is a Russian photographer who documented, in his series « Escape », people who decided to escape from social life to live all alone in the wild nature, far from any villages, town or any other person. A project on which he worked for three years and for which he won the Word Press Photo 2014 competition. The idea sprouted after involuntarily lost in the wilderness. There followed a personal interrogation : « It was a strong experience that allowed me to understand how much a person is formed by surrounding society and information. It also set up the questions about the self-identification in modern society. », he explains. A series that allows us to question ourselves about our own place in society.
