Ánimo South Los Angeles Charter High School, based in California, has a unique structure with a bright yellow color. This building was designed very quickly with a limited budget by the architecture collective Brooks + Scarpa Architects. Thus, simple and cost-effective choices were made for the construction, the addition of windows and the color of the structure. The goal was to create a nice place in an extremely difficult urban community. Unlike most schools, which are surrounded by a security fence, this building is surrounded by perforated metal walls up to 20 meters high. This unique architectural form allows to create spaces of lights and exudes a positive and reassuring atmosphere for the occupants. What make us want to return to high school! The project is to be discovered on Behance.
