As part of the Olympic Games that will take place in Rio, French artist JR carried out two giant installations inside the city. Black and white photographs that represent two athletes have indeed been installed on metal structures, conveying the impression that these sportsmen are using the city as a playground.

The first work is situated on the roof of a building of 25 floors and represents the Sudanese high jumper Mohamed Younes Idriss, who couldn’t qualify for the competition. The second one is the picture of a swimmer while diving into the ocean. The Olympic Games begin today and will gather competitors from 207 countries.
