Duo 1week1project, based in Paris and Santiago of Chili, is an architectural think tank which approaches diverse problems linked to the news. In 2014, architects propose to transform the stadiums of the World Cup in Brazil to fight against the lake of habitations. For its 31st week of 2015, the two creatives have thought about the murdering crossing of the Mediterranean Sea for migrants who goes towards Europe.
The Triton operation, since November 2014, is a security operation, not a human one ; the number of deaths is increasing day after day. These two architects propose us to open the borders between Europe and Africa. This utopic project, called Passage, fragments the coasts and gives birth to a bridge connecting the continents through different platforms. Passage asks the question of opening the borderlines ; their closing doesn’t allow the regulation of the migratory flux and has tragic consequences in Mediterranean Sea. Don’t we better be accepting this migration like a real fact?
