Since 1991, Cuban artist Abelardo Morell uses a camera obscura to project in reverse landscapes and city views on walls of interior rooms. Precursor of the pinhole, the dark room (or camera obscura in Latin) is an optical instrument that allows a light projection on a flat surface. It has served the painters for a long time before the discovery of image fixation’s processes that led us to the invention of photography. Abelardo uses this techniques to decorate the interiors with exterior elements.
