The project The Chairs of Horia Manolache started during a photography workshop in San Francisco with Alessandra Sanguinetti. She wanted to take pictures of upholsteries and portray their owners. After seeing a white chair with a broken arm, Horia wondered how this chair would look if it was a woman and what would be its age. That’s how the series The Chairs came to life and in which she associes each chair to a person by matching the outfits to the style of the object.
