In the night of the 22nd january, Chinese photographer Kim Cheung saw a bioluminescence‘s phenomenon on the shores of Hong Kong. Called “Noctiluca scintillans” and also “Sea Sparkle”, this natural phenomenon (caused by pollution) gives a blue and fluorescent tint to the microorganisms present in the water : blooms and planktons light up when they’re disturbed by the waves’ movements.
