To celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Centre Pompidou, architects Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers revealed rare archive photographs. Took from out-door, the contrast between its futuristic architecture and Parisian Haussmannian buildings is incredibly visible. With its apparent plumbing – blue for air-conditioning pipework, yellow for electrics, green for water and red for elevators and famous tubular escalators, Beaubourg, built as a pledge to the future as been much disputed before became one of France’s most visited cultural place.
