Fabrice Van der Beek is a French self-taught artist of 28 years old, who works essentially in the field of sculpture. Through this series of sculptures, in resin and plaster, called Perfect Flaws, he materialized paintings that he made in June 2015 and which represent a women’s chest with a face hidden by abstract and geometric shapes. After modelizing in 3D his painting and removed every imperfection, he decided to create a silicone mould thanks to a 3D printer. He wanted to show, by sculpting this woman a few months later, the two opposite dimensions she recalls : on one side, the gentle curves and on the other, the agressive and straight lines.
