ALEAOLEA is a team of architects and landscapers based between Barcelona and Tunis. Together, they work on projects at different scales in different Mediterranean countries. Their goal is to offer contemporary responses by taking into account the cultural, social and economic context around the project.
Among their various projects is the 13th century Spanish Gothic church of Vilanova de la Barca. During the Spanish Civil War, in 1936, this church was partially demolished by bombing. In ruins, the studio AleaOlea decided to renovate the building, while considering the original aspect outside. They also created a new room inside the building, mixing history and modernity.
