Kaan Architecten achieved an extension project for a Belgian school, an historical building of the 19th century, that will now host also a library and a music school. The structure is called Utopia, a hommage to Thomas More, the author of the famous book, edited for the first time here in Aalst. To do so, the studio demolished two ancient parts of the structure and conceived three new rectangular blocks, in a modern but perfectly coherent style.
