Milan Design Week is in full swing. The famous designer Patrick Jouin unveils the prototype of a new creation, the TAMU Chair. The latter is fully foldable and designed from the smallest amount of materials possible, using the concept of generative design via three-dimensional printing. The designer illustrates the fact that design is today more and more thought of in terms of efficiency and practicality than in terms of style.

To imagine his creation, Patrick Jouin was inspired by Nature and the precision of his creative process. Each element is connected with another in order to create a coherent and functional whole. This is illustrated by the creation TAMU.

We recently introduced the Interfaces interactive installation presented by Dassault Systèmes as part of its Design in the Age of Experience event. Dassault Systèmes is also inviting visitors to Milan Design Week to explore the power of 3D printing with its 3DEXPERIENCE collaborative platform, which Patrick Jouin himself has used to imagine his creation.
