En Iwamura is an artist-sculptor born in Kyoto, specializing in ceramics. His parents are both painters, so he has lived in an artistic environment since his youth. Ceramic is for him a way to communicate between different cultures, peoples and countries, thus allowing to overcome the language barrier.

Always studying the relationship between the object and the space it occupies, the artist relies on the “Ma” philosophy, which questions how objects are positioned in a space to fill the void, and to create the true essence that defines this space. Sculpting the object itself thus carves the space around it at the same time. The place occupied by the sculpture will define at the same time the relationship with the viewer, hence the need to be methodical about his installations!
