Ákos Huber is a Hungarian architect and designer, living in London, who recently designed a sofa named Wing Sofa inspired by the Nike of Samothrace : a Greek sculpture of winged goddess (personification of victory), placed on the front of a ship and conserved at the Louvre in Paris. At first glance, we don’t distinguish this sculptural work through the design of this sofa but it’s in its undulating forms, its brightness and its fascination that Ákos found the inspiration while he was contemplating. In the middle of the beech plywood base, are aligned stretched ropes like a harp, on which we sit.
