For the annual edition of the Sculpture by the Sea festival which happened in Denmark, in Aarhus, studio Atelier 37.2 imagined the installation “New Horizon”. Inspired by Rothko, this sculpture shaped like an ephemeral room hides a cave of wooden planks playing on perspectives and the concept of layers. Once he’s inside, the viewer can observe the landscape through windows placed at different heights. The first rectangular opening reveals a lake with its boats that sail calmly. The second lets appearing a fragment of sky, cloud, the sunset and flying birds. We can admire an horizon divided in two parts, like two moving paintings.
