For their section Art of the Scene, Cinefix decided to analyze the cult but upsetting ending of the movie Se7en, directed in 1995 by David Fincher. They studied the horrifying finale scene, filmed in the middle of nowhere, where detective David Mills (Brad Pitt) and detective William Somerset (Morgan Freeman) discover together what’s in the cardboard box that John Doe (the serial killer played by Kevin Spacey) delivered. There is actually Tracy’s head : Mills’ wife. How Fincher thought this twist and why did he chose these actors? What obstacles did he meet and is there an alternative ending? The answer in video.
