
Gumshoe is the first pair of shoes in the world made from 100% recycled chewing gum. The recycled gum that was used was scraped off the streets of Amsterdam. Gum-Tec compounds are formed as granules and are then molded into the sole of the shoe, which also feature a map of the city. “We started looking for a way to make people aware of this problem […] It was then that the idea started to create a product that people really want something that nobody cares”, said Jonathan Van Loon (project designer), it is also that the compounds are as strong as normal rubber.
