The German jewellery designer Saskia Diez has created facial masks with detachable silver and gold plated chains.
Saskia produced the first batch of masks for her shop in April. They are light cotton masks with 50 centimetre long metal or nylon chains that can be worn as a necklace.
The designer said in an interview for Deezen that she hopes that these medical accessories can also become comfortable to wear, in order to reduce the negative symbolic burden of the face mask. “It looks more like an accessory than something you have to wear,” she said.
