With the holidays coming, the famous street artist Banksy has unveiled his own version of the Christmas crèche. Entitled “Scar of Bethlehem”, his work represents Jesus, Marie and Joseph in Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. In this nativity scene revisited, the protagonists are in front of the Israeli West Bank wall, whose construction began in 2002.  Behind the nativity figures, the concrete wall is pierced with a bullet, revealing a hole star shaped.

The artwork, which criticizes the Israeli occupation, is exhibited at the Banksy’s Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem, where the rooms look out over the separation barrier, which stretches over 700 kilometers.
