The Seaport District in New York gave to Leta Soberajski & Wade Jeffree the mission to create a series of sculptures to liven the district for the summer of 2019, and the result in stunning.

The artists were inspired by the coral and wavy movements of seaweed to reproduce an underwater atmosphere. Regarding the materials used, they got inspired by the history of the city and especially the boats moored at the port of Seaport for many years. However, the chosen materials are more natural and will evolve over time, changing the sculptures over the seasons.

« We wanted to emulate the feeling of drifting through an unexplored world splashed with color and pattern by creating cavernous structures that would evoke an overwhelming seascape of multi-dimensional sculptures of varying heights and colors. »
