Philippe Imbert, known as Pechane is a French artist specialized in Japanese Sumi-e technique since 2002. This ancestral technique of painting comes from the Zen culture and consist in painting a single stroke considering the white of the paper as a volume or a space the mind has to imagine. With lots of sensitivity and a great savoir-faire, the artist doesn’t hesitate to represent everything that inspires and fascinates him, from misty landscapes of Asia to the sensual curves of a woman’s body or the wild look of an animal saw on the road.
