Altered Books is a series by Andrew Hayes, an American sculptor who likes transforming old books into sculptures. On heavy encyclopedias, this artist adds steel pieces to form these artworks. The metal is for him a way to create a new think from books that he considers like an unique material. Through his work, he manages to marry the rigidity of steel and the delicate flexibilité of a book’s pages.
