Yael Naim – For the Lost Souls

Yael Naim's magnificent session at the Louis Vuitton Foundation

Yael Naim exclusively presents today a wonderful acoustic session at the Louis Vuitton Foundation of his track “For the Lost Souls”, from the EP Unreleased nightsongs.

The live takes place within the current exhibition at the Foundation on Cindy Sherman, A Retrospective (From 1975 to 2020). Multi-faceted, emancipated from codes, iconoclastic, Yael Naim shares many points with the famous American performer and photographer.

And she declares: “I feel connected to Cindy Sherman’s work and her questioning of identity. They inspired me to wander through the exhibition. Her faces are like resonances to our own dualities, these constant confrontations between the roles we assume and our inner quest for authenticity. An acoustic fugue, sometimes a capella, which faces the mysterious echoes that pass through me. “

The director Zenzel (already spotted for his work with Aloïse Sauvage in particular) manages to capture perfectly this encounter between two women artists with different but so close forms of expression. By posing his poetic gaze on Yael Naim, he perfectly captures the emotion of the first time.
